Description
I am using the markdown plugin, and the "for each article, show summary" option.
Deactivating the markdown plugin fixes the problem.

The Markdown plugin must add a filter to the_excerpt that it shouldn't. Contact the Markdown author, please. If this is still an issue, that is.
