Description

Hi all,
I'm using WordPress 2.7-RC1

I'm not able so see the content of dashboard optional panels
WordPress Development Blog, Other WordPress News and Plugins.

The panel stay blank and if I access the configure link i can see the message
Error: could not find an RSS or ATOM feed at that URL

Obviously the RSS is ok and accessible from my browser.
May be is there a too strict timout setting or a limitation in the security of the hosting platform?

I posted here because it sounded similar to the problem I was having but this ticket seems to be closer to my exact problem. I get the same error as sspelta when I go to configure the feed.

I am also having the exact same rpoblem, right down to the "Error: could not find an RSS or ATOM feed at that URL" message. The other feeds in my dashboard load fine.

If WordPress times out while attempting to load the RSS feed on the first time, Thats the error message that will be shown.

I've found that sometimes, the 2 (or 30?) seconds which WP allows for the feed fetching isn't enough for some slow hosts.

Replying to DD32:

So maybe it would be good to increase the time? Or maybe even allow it to be set to a custom value. Not even necessarily a full setting but maybe something as simple as a PHP constant like in wp-config.php or something...?
