I really appreciate the possibility to make a summary of a new post which is then displayed in the RSS feed.
Unfortunately there is apparently no possibility for the reader to distinguish whether the sentence displayed in the feed reader is just a "teaser" summary (so... people ought to click on the link to see the whole post) oder if it's just a very short post and there's nothing there worth clicking.
How about adding some dots or a "(more...)" link when it's a manual summary that's displayed? BTW: When it's an automatically created excerpt, these dots are _already_ added and make the people visit the site because they know there's more to see.

The summary, by RSS definition (not sure about Atom) is text-only, which means no HTML. You can achieve the effect you're looking for by using full-content feeds (and thus HTML), and adding <!--more-->'s.
