delay between ping

Description

i have a low capacity hosting. when i add more than 5 ping servers and post a new the server shows "500 Internal server Error" a good idea is a 1 or 2 seconds delay between server ping to avoid hosting overloads

This might be caused from the WordPress 2.0.5 update. Try installing the ​tuneup plugin and see if that helps.

By the way, adding 1 or 2 seconds between pings will drastically slow down posting. That sort of thing will cause more complaints and timeouts than things that it would fix.

Is this more of an issue for the ​support forums?

the idea is run the delay between ping "as background task" to eliminate the post slow down (the post shows "as published" but in background is pinging the servers)

I believe the cron features in 2.1 provide this functionality.
