#7747 closed enhancement (fixed)

Strip Microsoft Word's conditional comment tags so they don't show up in Internet Explorer

Description

If content is pasted from Word directly into TinyMCE (instead of using the toolbar button), a lot of ugly tags are included. Most noticeably, there are what look like conditional comments (supportEmptyParas, etc.) that appear in Internet Explorer 6+ (Firefox and Safari hide the comments).

Since they only appear in Internet Explorer, they can be hard to catch. Is there something we can do to strip these out automatically (or all html comments?), rather than assuming users will always use the Paste from Word button.
